The radio pouch is designed to fit AN/PRC-152, AN/PRC-148, and other similarly sized handheld radios. The pocket can be opened to easily access the screen and buttons without removing the radio device. The pouch is closed and secured using a reliable polymer buckle and two velcro-padded shock cords. The bottom has a zipper for easy battery access.The pouch consists of two main parts - a mounting plate and the radio compartment.The mounting part is manufactured of a 500D Nylon base fitted with two aluminum tubes that guarantee rigid construction. It has two PALS straps for easy attachment to virtually any PALS-based vest, backpack, or other gear-carrying systems. An extra side strap with a polymer buckle helps furtherly stabilize the pouch to maximize comfort and performance.The radio compartment is made from the same 500D Nylon, foam, and durable laminate. The device in the pouch is secured in its place with a shock cord. Utilized materials guarantee extreme robustness and resistance to physical and typical "deployment" damage with full access to all control knobs. The bottom-placed zipper is used for battery replacement in the field without removing the radio from the pouch.Both parts are sewn together at the bottom and connected with a pull tab on top. This allows the pouch to pivot outward for quick and easy access to the screen and buttons.
